MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

Here is a link incase I screwed up the button, as I am very tired and worn out at this time. Wife of a Sailor

I decided this week to play along with the MilSpouse Friday Fill-in.

I am writing this up tonight (thursday) and scheduling it to post tomorrow, since we will be on the road to NJ to get ready for our flight to Italy! Can you believe it???

1.Do you or your {spouse} ever wish your {spouse} was in a different branch of the military? submitted by The Turner Family
Funny you should ask that! My husband has actually been a part of two different branches! Marine Corps first and now the Army. I wish most days that he would go back to the Marines. He too has wished he never left!

2.What duty station(s) are on your “No Way, Hell No, Not Going, Have Fun Unaccompanied” list and why? submitted by Every Branch

Had you asked me that a week or month ago my list would have looked a little like this : Lewis, Irwin, Hood, Bliss, Riley, Sill, and Benning.
Now after the day I had today- remember i am posting on Thursday- I will NEVER do another overseas move. I decided today that i my husband wants to extend I will stay longer in Italy, but I will be damned if he brings us back to the states and we have to go through this B.S. again. This is freakin' ridiculous!

3.If you could be one age forever, what age would you choose and why? submitted by Three Krakens
15!! Hands down. That is when I met my husband. And we had so much fun. so many wonderful memories. I'd love to relive them all over again.

4.If you were a breakfast cereal, which one would you be? submitted by the C.W.
Fruit Loops- Cause I am one!

5.What is your morning beverage of choice and why? submitted by NH Girl Displaced
French vanilla coffee, light and sweet from Dunkin'

  2. Our first (and only, so far) duty station was to Okinawa Japan. I agree that I NEVER want to do another overseas move! I obviously have nothing to compare it to...but I know it wasnt fun!

Good luck getting to Italy! My cousin and her husband are there now (he is AF), and they really are enjoying it and getting to see so many cool places.

  5. Well Jenn as I have already told you we where Navy and did two(2) tours over seas (with two (2) kids) back to back first one to GTMO then on to Spain those moves went great. However the move BACK to the states was the trip from HELL pack out went great but then I got sick (very bad case of flu)and manged to put my back out, (was on med's for this) then the plane managed to break down and had to be fixed this was going to take awhile so they put us up for "the night" out in town. This lasted until 4:30am when we were called and told to be in the lobby by 5am to board a bus to Jerez (pronounced Hereth) where we would board a plane to go to Madrid then fly to Philly, oh did I mention it was late November.Well the bus didn't show until 6am the flight was 7am and we where 1 1/2 hours from Jerez talk about driving like a bat out of hell just made the plane oh there is NO assigned seating on this flight they wanted to put me in a set up front my husband in a set in the back and the girls (ages 5 & 8) in sets separate from us (oh and the men are RUDE as hell) well we pitched a fit and we each got 1 of girls but had to set in separate areas. When we got to Madrid the airline hadn't heard from the military about any of the 300 of needing to be on flights back to the states and had NO tickets or us thank God we had a guy from Rota that did our booking that was PCSing with us he had ALL the numbers to call and who to talk too he got that fixed about 1 hour later. Well we had to fly to NYC instead of Philly then take a bus to Philly sense that was to be our point of return on our orders the bus got LOST in NYC trying to to the Lincoln Tunnel we circled Macy's @ 5 times. (Oh did I tell you we had a military prisoner with us as well). Would believe we then got caught in the first snow storm of the year by the time we got to Philly the airport was being closed and they had nowhere for us to check in, we managed to get one of the last hotel rooms in the area then had to be back at the airport at 8am to check in and get our next flight. So I do know your pain.
As for where I said Hell No to was Norfolk VA I would let my husband go anywhere but there.
As for age 20 that was when we got married. even though we met when I was 18, we couldn't always be together until then.
I don't eat cereal but if I had to choose frosted flakes I can be a bit flaky but always sweet.
Hot lemon tea but only when I'm sick and I cant STAND coffee the smell or the taste.

  7. Moving to Italy, and living in Italy is a league of it's own. Even people who've lived at multiple overseas bases say this is the hardest to adjust to. But it's worth it. Good luck with your move over here.
